The Oldest Living Thing On Earth
Posted By Zoe Delphy On September 30, 2008
Trees live much longer than any other type of plant or animal. In fact it’s possible to know the age of a tree by counting the rings in its trunk (One ring generally equates to one year).
The oldest living tree and hence one of the oldest known living things on Earth is a bristlecone pine tree located in California, North America, it’s actually over 4600 years old, now thats old.

Wow thats pretty darn old, but I heard on discovery that the oldest living things are these rocks… that actually breathe
Cool fact tho
NICE
rocks arent living so you are really stupid. no offence
i thought coral reefs are the oldest with over a million year old trust me
OMG! How can somebody be stupid just for saying some rocks breathe? For all means you can be stupid. But “Bla”..it takes one to know one
ha ha , how do rocks get big if they are not living
i would like a answer from the one that calls people stupid, people are not stupid
hehe! that’s harsh man!! I think that mosquitoes are the oldest living things on earth!! SORRY TO BURST YOUR BUBBLE BUT ROCKS AREN’T LIVING:-)
I recon that the trees either get caught in a storm or something?
i agre rocks aren’t living so technically they aren’t the oldest living things.
no offence
It’s definately the oldest living thing on earth.
I never imagine it.
that is one old tree
rocks are living

Well, the only logical thing I can think of, is that he was referring to some kind of porous rock that had microbes living on it, or some moss. Otherwise, it makes absolutely no sense in the slightest. As for that tree, it looks rather dead to me.
Hey there Bla! It’s not the rock breathing! Didnt you read the dialouge…. youre stupid arent you! Also you betty! Rocks have neutrons. When its hot they dont compress so the rocks get bigger. Now you understand! And people arent stupid I think theyre super nice because look at what theyve discover. Hey im not a nerd or a geek! I’m just smart and beautiful! No offense! Really! You might wanna change youre name!Tootles
Try a bit of research on these guys: Stromatolites
I don’t believe this.
It has been found that a person, named Steve H., planted this tree to remind him of his youthful days long passed.
The bristle cone pine may in fact be the oldest thing chronologically, but what is the oldest living species on the planet?
Rock A living tHINGS??hahahahaha..it diffrent if u say tree is living,but ,,rock…ugh..
